Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is an assessment?
Initial psychiatric assessments are up to 50 minutes in duration. This allows sufficient time to understand your concerns, explore your history, discuss any diagnoses, and develop an appropriate treatment plan. Follow-up appointments are up to 30 minutes and focus on reviewing progress, monitoring treatment, and making any necessary adjustments to your care. All appointments are provided through my private practice at Cognacity and can usually be conducted either online or in person at their Central London clinics in Marylebone and Sloane Square.
Do I prescribe medication?
Where appropriate, yes. Medication can be an effective part of treatment for some individuals, but it is not always necessary. Any prescribing decisions are made collaboratively, taking into account your symptoms, preferences, medical history, and the available evidence.
My approach is always evidence-based and patient-centred, with a focus on helping you make informed decisions about your treatment options.
Can I see patients online?
Yes. In most cases, consultations can take place online via secure video appointment. Occasionally, a face-to-face appointment may be required, depending on the nature of the assessment, clinical circumstances, or treatment being provided. In-person appointments are available in Central London through Cognacity’s clinics in Marylebone and Sloane Square.
Can I use private insurance?
Yes. I am recognised by all major private medical insurers and many patients choose to fund their appointments through their private medical insurance. If you intend to use insurance, I would recommend contacting your insurer before booking to confirm your level of cover and obtain any required authorisation codes.
